Pottery lessons in bristol

If you've ever fancied having a go at making pottery on the wheel, I'd be very happy to show you how.

I offer one-to-one throwing lessons at my pottery studio in Bristol. Whether you're a complete beginner or have tried throwing before, it's a chance to spend some time working with clay, learning a few techniques and seeing what you can make.

What to expect

We'll start with the basics of preparing and centring the clay, before moving on to pulling up the walls and shaping a pot.

I'll demonstrate each stage and help you as you go, with plenty of time for you to practise on the wheel yourself.

Throwing can take a little getting used to - clay doesn't always do quite what you want it to! But that's part of what makes it so interesting, and there's a lot of pleasure in beginning to understand how the material behaves.

The lessons are relaxed and informal, and we'll work at a pace that suits you.
