Large Mug - Nuka Glaze - Reduction Fired

£35.00

Handmade wheel-thrown mug in coarse stoneware with a nuka glaze in which I use ash I collected last winter from our wood burner at home to create the melt and colour. Inside it has a dolomite white glaze.

The reduction atmosphere of the charcoal saggar inside the kiln creates the colour in both clay and glaze.

Fired to cone 9 in a charcoal reduction firing saggar

My maker's mark is brushed and stamped on the base.

This glaze does vary more than my others from piece to piece - it uses naturally varying wood ash and is also sensitive to atmospheric changes in the kiln, so have a look at the group photo to get an idea of the range of tones it creates.

Approx. H100 Ø85
