Cup - Medium Yunomi - Handmade Fluted Porcelain with black rim

Handmade wheel-thrown yunomi in porcelain with hand fluting and a black rim accent.

Excellent for tea from the pot or coffee from either pour-over or flat white/latte.

These are thrown from around 275g of porcelain at my potter’s wheel. A couple of days later, once leather hard, they are turned to their final shape with a foot ring then the fluting is done by hand with a very fine wire loop. I prefer to do the fluting freehand without any rigid guide as the organic irregularities in these lines remind me of fine grass in a breeze, making a good counterpoint to the otherwise clean and precise form.

Turned foot ring with maker’s mark in underglaze.

Dishwasher and microwave safe but hand-washing recommended.
