Cup - Yunomi - Handmade in Porcelain with inlaid "Seismograph" design
Handmade wheel thrown yunomi cup in porcelain with an engraved and inlaid black line.
Excellent for tea from the pot or coffee from either pour-over or flat white/latte.
After throwing and trimming the shape and foot ring at my potter’s wheel, I use a scalpel to engrave the line design then fill it with dyed porcelain slip before firing.
The outside is all raw porcelain, inside has a transparent satin glaze to prevent staining.
My maker's mark is brushed on the base in black underglaze.
Dishwasher and microwave safe but hand-washing recommended.
Fired in the kiln to cone 8 (1255c) in an oxidising atmosphere.
